KAMPALA – Uganda’s population stands at 45,905,417 as of 2024, according to the National Population and Housing Census 2024 report released by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS). This data provides crucial insights into the country’s demographic, social, and economic landscape.

As the world marks World Population Day, Uganda’s population has grown at an average annual rate of 2.9% since 2014 with half of the population, approximately 23.1 million, consisting of children between one and 17 years old, making up about 50.5% of the total population.
