Family Medical Point will on Friday, 31 May 2028 hold an outreach to commemorate Menstrual
Hygiene Day at Entebbe Girls School Kigungu.
The outreach will focus at enabling the girls at the school and the support community to access
accurate sexual reproductive health and rights information and services in line with the
outreach’s theme: Advancing Girls’ Education Through Access to Accurate SRHR Information
and Services.
FMP, through Global Giving is fundraising for USD. 10,000 to purchase menstrual cups for girls
in fishing communities that will ensure that no girl will miss classes because of menstruation.
The outreach is in part aimed to popularize menstrual cups, a cheaper and durable menstrual
hygiene management commodity.
Key activities planned for the event include health education talks to provide in-depth health
education, an educational film to highlight the dangers of unplanned or unsafe early sexual
behavior and the importance of seeking support on sexual reproductive health related
challenges.
Basic life support training to equip students with practical skills to respond to emergencies,
creating a safer environment within schools and communities will also be conducted.
