Increased Access to Health Services

Family Medical Point is amplifying access to health services among young people and women; through providing a mix of low-cost and free critical health services to slum based and rural, hard to reach communities, high-risk segments of society and creating a conducive environment for young people to access health services and information. We use our service delivery as a launch pad for evidence based advocacy with an outreach model designed to benefit hard to reach communities. Our medical facility partners with several other medical points to serve the communities we target.

The following are our focus areas:

At Family Medical Point we work with communities to develop an empowered mass of women, sensitized, trained and aware of their rights to lead a full life. We integrate women and girl empowerment into our health work to ensure the effects of gender based violence, negative cultural practices do not limit any woman’s access to family planning and other reproductive health services. We also target to empower the woman to have a strong voice and resources to be able to afford a health service and live in dignity within her family;

  • Fighting Gender Based Violence associated with Family Planning
  • Health entrepreneurship/village saving groups for health
  • Teenage mother’s support centre to break teen-motherhood cycle
  • Empowerment training’s and counselling
  • Environmental Health
