Filled with pomp and fun, FMP’s successful community outreach focused on raising awareness on unsafe abortion and addressing information needs of sex workers on sexual and reproductive health, was held in Kigungu Fishing Landing Site on 8th March 2024.
The outreach targeting sex workers and other key populations, directly reached 371 residents in the area. Another estimated 12,000 have been reached by the day’s activities key messages through news stories published both national and local news outlets.
The outreach offered a safe space for individuals to access inclusive SRH services such as family planning, HIV testing and counseling, STI testing and treatment, post-abortion care, distributing 3,000 condoms and lubricants to ensure participants have the necessary tools to practice safe sex and protect themselves from sexually transmitted infections, unwanted pregnancies and unsafe abortions.
